Tears of War

I had her posed for several weeks, as 50% Aiko originally.

For a long time I wasn't sure about adding a victim. The idea of the tear was there from the start and would give it a nice Buffyesc twist (as in the final of the second season when Buffy has no choice but to kill her boyfriend to save the world, again).
And then I saw the Jin male character and I knew I had my victim. It really filled up the space nicely.

Backgrounds still puzzle me. I don't llike prefab backdrops for that, too many pixels that are not mine. So a bamboo forest seemed fitting but at first it just didn't gel. A lot of work in photoshop fixed that, the whole image was a boatload of post work.

I used depthmaps for separate depth of field work for the male, female and background in after effects.
